Louise Dear grew up between continents — an itinerant childhood in South Africa and the Far East before the family settled in rural Hampshire. The wanderlust never left her.
After studying fashion design at Medway College of Art & Design, she bought a 1963 Bedford ambulance, painted it Honey Pink, and drove across Europe and North Africa. She then bought a three-month return ticket to India — and didn't come home for seven years.
Her signature style — bold pop-art femininity layered with gloss paint, copper and gold leaf, diamond dust, glitter and Swarovski crystals on aluminium — became internationally collected. Then in 2021, she relocated to the South of France, trading her studio for four years of oleander, flamingos, and copper-gold Languedoc light.

Medium & materials
Louise works exclusively on aluminium sheet, building up richly layered surfaces using gloss paint, copper and gold leaf, diamond dust, glitter, and hand-set Swarovski crystals. Each piece is unique — there are no prints or editions of the original works.
